What you need to thrive daily

Humans are just really complicated plants, and our needs to thrive daily can be linked to everything our spider plants, lilies, and vegetable gardens need.

Before we can make links and build this extravagant life that we hope and dream for ourselves, we need to make sure we are hitting the basics to have a strong foundation for all of that to happen.

Answer these questions honestly with yourself to see if you are getting what you need to thrive daily.

1. Are you drinking enough water?

Hydration is one of the number one components to thriving. When dehydrated, we are lethargic, unmotivated, and often feel more hungry than we are. We end up craving foods that don’t fuel our bodies with the proper nutrients, and we start to get weighed down by something I can only explain as “bleh.”

Water helps our body digest food, and it detoxes our body of anything and everything.

2. Are you eating fruits & vegetables?

Fuel. Fuel. Fuel. I, of course, have the ice cream or the chocolate or the fries. I don’t feel guilty for eating those things, but I always get my greens. Fruits and vegetables are nature’s love for us. The vitamins that we can get from plants will help us feel stronger, more energetic and motivated to take on the world.

3. Are you getting outside and getting some sun?

A harmful habit that we have developed as a society is not getting outside as much as we should. With technology development, we can call home, open our phones, tablets, televisions, and vedge. Not only does this provide a lack of movement, but it also doesn’t provide us with Vitamin D.

I look at Vitamin D as my energy vitamin. When I have been outside in the sun, I come back in feeling energetic and ready to push myself harder and get more done.

4. Are you in an environment where you can be loved, respected and cared for?

I often talk to my plants; not only do I make sure they are watered and in the sun, but I speak to them. When we are in an environment where we can’t grow, where people push us down rather than built up, we will not thrive.

Toxic relationships, toxic family members, friends, and other environments that discourage us from building the life we want and growing on a personal development level are not the environment where you are cared for, thus stunting your growth in your thrive.

Ensure that you are in an environment that gives you space and gives you the love you need to thrive on.

5. Are you spending time with yourself?

Spending time with yourself has a different mindset and perspective from many angles. Journaling, meditating, fitness regimes, walking, driving or any other activity that permits you to be alone, and find your ground, build your roots and centre yourself with the earth is a crucial component to help you thrive every day.
