I was interviewed recently about my business and the new projects that I am starting [Click Here for interview]. I was asked questions on what people will be seeing of my brand, company and products. It was exciting. It was exhilarating… And it was out of this world for me to be participating in the second interview, about ME, and my business.

Over a year ago, when I started “just a simple blog”, I never thought that it would bring me here. I never thought that I would feel the way I do about entrepreneurship, literature, words, reading and finding a passion for helping others’ find theirs.

It is a completely out of this world experience, but it is an adventure I am definitely ready for.

There was one question that I answered where I surprised myself a little bit with how much I valued this part of the planning, creating and developing process of having my own online business. They asked me how I planned and got everything done and I put emphasis on taking a minute for me.

Why take a minute for me?

It might sound counterintuitive and maybe even counterproductive; but as a creator, entrepreneur, and business owner our best creations and our best work come when we are at our healthiest.

In this context, I say healthiest not as a way to encourage healthy eating and moving our body, although those elements are just as important. I mean in our mindset and in our mental health.

If we are trying to run a business, create new products and get ourselves where we need to be; we can’t work seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day… it is just not possible.

It won’t get us any closer to our goals. It won’t get more work done and it won’t motivate that inner passion, but it may destroy it.

Passion is inside of us all, but even when we overwork the thing we love, it gets tired.

The best choice I ever made for my business and for myself is making sure I save my weekends for weekends. I save it for apple picking and popcorn; game nights and relaxation; nature walks and laundry. I save the weekend to really take a minute and focus on me, what I need in order to be ten times more productive come Monday morning.

Like I said… it sounds counterproductive, to remove time in order to gain productivity… but I don’t look at it that way.

We are rearranging time in order to gain perspective.

Take a minute for yourself.

Especially if you are starting out in the entrepreneurship path or you are a long time master. The need for self-focus is what will light your passions on fire.
