Do you love to be on the move?

Do you love to keep busy?

Adding more and more to your to-do list?

I am the same way.

It is part of our genetic make-up, and possibly how we were raised, but nature versus nurture is a whole other topic to discuss.

Have you ever tried to spend the whole day in bed? Preparing meals and going back to bed. Watching your favourite television shows and movies, while staying in your pyjamas.

The first time that I did it, I felt antsy. Like I should be doing something and should be keeping busy. I know that my favourite past-time is writing and I am a writer, but sometimes I even have to take a break from the words rushing by the screen line by line. So… I forced myself to take a day.

I stayed in my pyjamas, I didn’t leave the bedroom, I napped, I read… It was the most relaxing day I have ever had. Here are some benefits after the day in bed:

You understand when you need to take a break

You are able to focus in on your work and become more productive

Your stress and anxiety levels decrease

You can build a weekly self-care day that compensates your needs

&

You are spending time with yourself, which puts self-love into practice

Although I don’t know if I would be able to spend the whole day in bed regularly; spending that one day was beneficial and allowed me to plan a day every week that I take for myself, and don’t work on other elements.

Although my blog, books and business are extremely important to me, I am also important to me and taking care of myself is my number one priority. So should you. Spend the whole day in bed.

  1. I think I’ve only stayed in bed the whole day due to illness but I know I’ve come close. The body just gets too sore after awhile.

  2. Sometimes bed is the best place to be and esspecially at these uncertain times, I know I need somewhere to hide haha

  3. Wonderful post, during this lockdown the bed is not bad but it is the best place to kill the time, so many peoples are spending the whole days in the bed.
