Feeling of empowerment has direct impact on the way that we view and approach life, because it is “being confident enough to take risks to try something new.” It elevates our own personal value, as well our worth, in our own eyes. Passion
Caitlin understands passion to be an essential component in one’s life. She explains that when a person starts their day off with passion, they are happier and whole-heatedly joyful about the life they are living. Passion creates a “thirst for life […] [that] brings vibrancy and color to people’s lives.” It is what allows her readers to connect with her, and feel inspired through her because Caitlin not only says how she feels about passion but demonstrates the passion in her life every day.
When asked what it means to live passionately, she responded:
“I’ve always been a passionate person. However, when you work for other people, even if their values align with yours, it feels like your passion is misdirected. You are putting all your passion into building something for someone else. When I decided to pursue freelance makeup artistry full time and work for myself, it was entirely driven by passion. I have always loved building people up, so being able to impact people’s self-esteem so profoundly is something that is the core of why I do what I do. When a bride cries happy tears looking in the mirror after I’m done applying her makeup, because she feels more beautiful than she ever imagined, it fuels me like nothing else. In those moments I imagine never giving up.”
Dedication
Being enveloped in passion Caitlin makes the connection to the dedication that she sets out in life. Caitlin believes that dedication is “never giving up”, even when events become obstacles and life becomes hectic, moments of failure only mean moments of progress. She explains that failure is a part of life, the setbacks are there to help you understand your value in the world, and what your work can lead up to. She explains that you have to “push past those failures and setbacks that defines our journey”, she strengthens her analogy by comparing dedication to dancing.
“Taking two steps back after taking one step forward is not failure, it’s the Cha-Cha.”
This metaphor dives into what you would do to push towards your goals and Caitlin demonstrates that she would do anything. She says, “I’ve never achieved anything just by thinking about it.”
At the end of her interview Caitlin explains how empowerment, passion and dedication come together as a whole, as a way to pursue and push the self into being the best version that it can be. She says,
“Passion is the spark that starts the journey. It wakes you up and gives you the idea that you need to start down this road. Empowerment is what you get when you achieve things along the way. It keeps you motivated so that when you have setbacks, you feel confident and worthy enough to keep going or try a different approach. Dedication is how you will get to the end of the road, and realize your dream. Passion and empowerment are necessary for dedication to exist, and all three are necessary for you to achieve your goals.”
So, who is Caitlin Robins? A woman that works every day to live out her dreams, demonstrating that we are in this life, and we have to make sure we are getting everything we can out of it.
