Lauren is a full-time dance student pursuing a career in professional dance. On the side, she goes after a fitness career, in personal training and fitness classes. Her ambition towards fitness has allowed her to open the doors to first an Instagram account to promote healthy habits, to an extended fitness blog, to relay detailed information and teach about educational fitness and health-based content. This journey that she embarked on has allowed her to understand the joy in writing, as well as the satisfaction of sharing, educating and inspiring others around her.
Empowerment
Lauren’s desire to inspire comes from sharing her own personal experiences to her audience and to her readers. Personal experiences are a way to demonstrate authenticity and quality. She mostly does this through her own fitness experience, she says, “the key to ‘being inspired’ is being real and showing the bad days as well as the good”. This form of genuineness allows for others to become inspired by real content, not masked or uninspired, but reflective and true. This is what Lauren does through her blog and Instagram page.
This form of inspiration shows empowerment through the work that she puts in every day. The shows up. She works hard. She develops content that has an impact on her readers. Lauren expresses that empowerment has a “certain amount of authority, bravery and confidence to overcome and achieve things.” Empowerment is a source that allows you to feel confident and it attributes positivity in your life, these are aspects that Lauren feels strongly when linking life, especially her life, to empowerment.
Passion
“Without passion, I don’t think life has much meaning.” Lauren’s opening statement on passion. She admits that is makes you want to live better, to pursue a life of joy, happiness and purpose. It is the path to achieving greatness and without it, without that drive to encourage others in the pursuit to happiness, there are cracks in the foundation.
When asked what her connection to the words “live passionately” were, she explains:
“I believe that I have always ‘lived passionately’ – maybe because I am so creative and that’s what I associate passion with. If you’re passionate about something, you simply have to do it, and I’m quite passionate about life itself. I’m passionate about reading, dancing, fitness, tv shows… being passionate about something means to me that you can talk about it for hours, or you just want more people to know about it. Maybe you’re either a passionate person or you’re not, but I most definitely am.”
Dedication
Lauren is determined, and her determination powers through with her dedication to succeed. She understands dedication has being “fully invested” and “fully committed”, regardless of the days that you want to quit, or let yourself down, you push through. She says, “if I want something, I’ve worked my ass off for it”, and it is that dedication that is demonstrated through her blog, business and future dancing career.
The combination of the three, empowerment, passion and dedication, are necessary to success. Lauren admits that she did not recognize how they worked together until answering the interview questions, she expresses that “in combination they get you where you want to be and make you realize things are possible.” This worldview has allowed Lauren to pursue the career that brings her joy and fulfillment.
